  • Day 1: Kigali City Tour - Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

    Upon arrival, our company representative will warmly welcome you at Kigali International Airport or your hotel. You will have a city tour of Kigali, visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the Kigali central Market, and other sites to learn about Rwandan culture and traditions. Later, you will transfer to Nyungwe National Park, stopping at Nyanza Palace and Butare Museum for lunch before continuing to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will check into your hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park & Canopy Walk

    Get up early and have a hearty breakfast. Your safari driver will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules. Chimpanzees are closely related to humans, sharing over 98% of our DNA. You will walk through the forest to search for them and see other wildlife, including forest hogs, bush pigs, birds, and various monkeys. You will spend an hour observing the chimpanzees and taking photos. After lunch, enjoy a canopy walk, then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 3: Nature walk - Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

    Wake up at leisure and have your breakfast. Prepare for a nature walk in Nyungwe Forest Reserve to see various bird and primate species, including the Congo Pied Casqued Hornbill and Ross’s Turaco. Transfer to Volcanoes National Park for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

  • Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Community Visit

    Wake up early and have breakfast. You will then go to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorillas, including rules and regulations. A team of ranger guides will take you into the forest to search for mountain gorillas, which may take 2 to 6 hours. Along the way, you may see other wildlife, like red-tailed, blue, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. You will spend an hour observing the gorillas and their behaviors, then return to the headquarters and your hotel. In the evening, visit the local community to learn about their lifestyle, then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 5: Golden Monkey Trek & Departure

Afterward, you will explore the jungle to find these monkeys and may see other wildlife, including primates and birds. Finally, return to Kigali International Airport or your hotel.
