This 3-day birding trip takes you to Lake Mburo National Park, one of the best destinations in Uganda for both bird watching and wildlife experiences. This is the closest park to Kampala with unique and stunning landscapes, including lakes, marshes, wetlands, and savannahs and acacia trees. Over 313 bird species can be found here, like the Shoebill Stork, African Finfoot, Coqui Francolin, and White-winged Warblers.

DAY 1: Birding along the way to Lake Mburo National Park
Today, we begin our birding trip early in the morning from your accommodation as we transfer southwards to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, we will stop to look for various bird species, including the Wolly-Necked Stork, Coqui Francolin, Rufous-bellied Heron, Grey Crowned Crane, and Lilac-breasted Roller. We will also stop at the equator landmark for photos and stretching. After proceeding with your journey to the park to meet the evening specials.

DAY 2: Full day Birding Lake Mburo National Park
In the morning, prepare to go birding on foot along the park trails with an armed ranger, then return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, we shall take both a game and birding drive for a better chance to see several wildlife species, such as animals like Elands, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, topis, impalas, and giraffes. We will also search for various birds, including the Bare-faced Go Away Bird, Red-faced Barbet, Tabora Cisticola, and Buff Bellied Warbler. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a boat ride to look for the African Finfoot, African Jacana, and the Giant Kingfisher before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: Departure-Birding to Entebbe
Today’s birding will depend on our schedule and location. We will search for some missed species, including the Coqui Francolin, Papyrus gonolek, Red-faced Barbet, and others, during our short 3-day birding trip in one of Uganda’s protected areas. This marks the end of our 3-day birding trip in Lake Mburo National Park.
