This 5-day Uganda Birding safari includes birdwatching in Entebbe, Mabamba Wetlands, and Lake Mburo National Park. It starts with birding in Entebbe’s Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), the Botanical Gardens, and along Lake Victoria. Next, visit Mabamba Wetlands to see the rare Shoebill Stork and many other birds. The tour ends with 3 days in Lake Mburo National Park, which has 313 bird species in its diverse habitats.

Day 1: Bird in Entebbe Areas (UWEC, Botanical Gardens, Lake Victoria Shores)
Have your breakfast, after our safari driver will transfer you to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) for birding, which is home to over 170 bird species. Look search out for several bird species, including weavers, such as the Village Weaver, rare Northern Masked Weaver, Turacos, Kingfishers, Terns, and several species of Flycatchers. You can also see Raptors like the Martial Eagle, Gabar Goshawk, and African Fish Eagle, along with some captive animals. Continue to the Botanical gardens for more birding. Have lunch and relax before visiting the sewage lagoons in the evening. Return for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Birding in Mabamba Wetland Bay
Have breakfast and then go to Namugabo near Mabamba swamps, which has the largest number of shoebills seen in a single day. Birding mostly happens by canoe. Other birds you might see include the White-faced Whistling Duck, Squacco, African Jacana, African Water Rail, and various Kingfishers, herons, and ducks. You may also spot Sitatunga Antelope. On the way to Kampala, stop at another swamp for more birdwatching. Enjoy a packed lunch and then have dinner and spend the night in Kampala.

Day 3: Birding to Lake Mburo National Park
Take breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. There will be a brief stop at the equator before arriving at the park, where birding will happen near Nshara gate. You might see various bird species like the Bare-faced Go Away Bird, Common Scimitarbill, Tabola Cisticola, Emerald Spotted Wood Dove, and Lilac-breasted Roller. Lunch will be at Rwonyo Restaurant. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game drive on the Zebra Track to spot animals such as the Coqui Francolin and potentially elusive Leopards. Return for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Full Day Birding in Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy an early morning breakfast, then take a nature walk to see wetland and savanna birds and with several animals such as zebras, Impalas, elands, among others. After lunch, go on an evening game drive along the Kigambira loop. Expect to see various bird species such as the Green-capped Eremomela, Red-faced Barbet, Tabora Cisticola, Lead Colored Flycatcher, and several barbets. Return for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Return to Kampala
Start with an early morning game drive along the Lakeside Track near Lake Mburo, looking for various bird species, including the African Finfoot, Kingfishers, White Winged Warbler, and the elusive Shoebill. Next, we move to the lakeside campground to spot more birds like the African Darter and Spur-winged Plovers. After breakfast, we take a launch cruise to find any missed birds and see hippos and crocodiles. We then travel to Kampala, stopping for lunch in Masaka.
