DAY 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport
Upon arriving at Kigali International Airport, our tour guide will warmly welcome and greet you. You will get briefed about your 4-day birding tour in Rwanda, after that, you will be transfered to your booked lodge or hotel to check in and relax. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park
Today, you will drive about 5 hours from Kigali City to Akagera National Park birding enroute where you may spot bird species such as Bushshrike, Giant Kingfisher, White-winged Swamp Warbler, African Grey Hornbill among others. In the afternoon, you will go on a game drive to see animals like lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, topis, elands, olive baboons, and hippos and several bird species.

DAY 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

DAY 3: Full day birdwatching safari
Wake up early and after your breakfast, you will spend the whole day birding in Akagera National Park, known for its diverse bird species, including water, forest, savannah, and migratory birds. Some species, like the rare papyrus Gonolek, African Grey Hornbill, Heliornithidae, Wattle Eye, Giant Kingfisher, Blue-headed Coucal, Long-tailed Cisticola, Slate-colored Boubou, Carruthers’ Cisticola, White-winged Swamp Warbler are unique to the park. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip on Lake Ihema, which allows you to see various water birds such as Egrets, African fish eagles, Kingfishers, marabou storks, storks, crowned cranes, and herons. You might even spot the rare shoebill stork.

DAY 4: Departure
