This 4-Day Nyungwe Tour is ideal for those who prefer not to track mountain gorillas in Rwanda but still want to see primates. The tour includes tracking chimpanzees in Nyungwe or Cyamudongo forests, guided hikes on the canopy walkway and Isumo trail, a tea tour at Gisakura tea estate, and a coffee tour at Huye Mountain Co-operative. Pickup and drop-off are in Kigali city and can be customized.

    In the morning, the driver will pick you up from your Kigali hotel and take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will stop in Butare to visit the Rwandan National Museum and the King’s Palace in Nyanza, with lunch along the way.  Retire back to your lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Waterfall Hike and Canopy Walk

    Enjoy breakfast before heading to the park’s briefing point. You will go on a 3- to 4-hour guided trek in Nyungwe forest, exploring one of the park’s 19 nature trails. This nature walk will lead you to a beautiful waterfall, where you may see various primates like black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red-tailed and blue monkeys, and possibly some wild chimps. After the trek, you’ll return to the base to meet your driver guide, who will take you to your lodge or hotel for lunch. After a packed lunch, you will take a guided 2-hour nature walk on the canopy walkway bridge. After you will drive back to your lodge/hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 3: Visit Gisakura Tea Estate

    After breakfast, you will visit Gisakura Tea Estate to learn about the tea-making process. You will tour the tea plantation and see how tea is collected, stored, processed, and packaged. You will end with a sample of Rwandan-made tea, then return to your lodge for lunch and leisure time. Later retire return to your lodge/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 4: Huye Coffee Tour and Transfer Back to Kigali.

    Wake up and have breakfast at your lodge/hotel. After checking out, meet your driving guide. Today, go on a morning coffee tour to Huye Mountain Coffee Co-operative to learn about coffee-making in Rwanda. Finish with a cup of coffee and consider buying some. After, proceed with your drive guide back to Kigali City with lunch en route. Drop-off will be at your booked hotel or Kigali international Airport as you will advise. Hence, this marks the end of your 4-day Nyungwe Adventure.
