This 5-Day Uganda Gorilla and Safari adventure takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for mountain gorilla trekking and to Queen Elizabeth National Park for unique wildlife encounters. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers activities like chimpanzee tracking, boat cruises, and game drives, where you can see animals like the majestic tree climbing lions, buffalos, elephants, and hippos, among others. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the oldest rainforests, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas, about 459 individuals, and nearly 400 plant species. It is also the ancestral home of the Batwa people.

  • Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport – Meet and greet and get transferred to your booked hotel in Entebbe Town

    When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, a company representative will greet you and be your English-speaking safari guide for your 5-day gorilla and safari Adventure. You will be taken to your hotel in Entebbe Town to check in and freshen up before meeting your guide for a safari briefing. If time permits, you can take an evening nature walk at the Entebbe botanical gardens by Lake Victoria, where you can see various birds and primates. Afterward, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 2: Entebbe city –Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

    After breakfast, check out of the hotel at 6:30 am and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. First, visit the Kayabwe equator landmark to see cool water experiments showing differences between the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Enjoy exploring craft shops, taking photos, and tasting Ugandan coffee. Then, stop at Igongo Cultural Museum for lunch and a tour to learn about the history and traditions of the Ankole people. Continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you may arrive in the evening, check in at your hotel, refresh, and relax until dinner.

  • Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Mountain gorilla trekking – Game drive to search for the tree climbing lions – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    On this day, wake up very early, have breakfast, grab your packed lunch, and meet your safari guide. Drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on the gorilla trekking rules and regulations, which is a unique experience. While trekking, you might see other wildlife like forest elephants, chimpanzees, and different birds. After meeting the mountain gorillas, you can stay with them for an hour and take photos. Then, return to the park offices to get your trekking certificate for supporting endangered gorillas. Enjoy a packed lunch and drive through the Ishasha sector to search for tree-climbing lions. After your game drive, check into your reserved lodge to relax before dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning game drive – Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel – Spend your evening relaxing

    After breakfast, go to Kasenyi plains in the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive. This area is known for its wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes. Enjoy the beautiful scenery with savannah grasslands and see animals like Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, primates, and various birds. Take a break for lunch and refreshments before embarking on a 2-hour safari boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. This boat cruise is a popular activity and offers views of many water bird species, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants, hippos, and buffaloes. After the cruise, return to your lodge to relax, have dinner, and spend the night.

  • Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning chimpanzee tracking – Return to Entebbe International Airport

    Get up very early, have breakfast, and pack your luggage in the safari vehicle. Drive to the Kalinzu Forest Reserve office, where a local guide will greet you and explain the chimpanzee tracking experience. Start your forest walk to find chimpanzees and other primates. Kalinzu is Uganda’s second-best spot for chimp tracking, with over 50 friendly chimpanzees. You might also see more than 380 other primates, like red-tailed monkeys and olive baboons. After tracking, refresh with water and then head back to Entebbe, stopping for lunch at the Igongo cultural museum before your return flight. This ends the 5-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Safari Experience.
