10-Day Uganda Wildlife and Cultural Safari

The 10-Day Uganda Wildlife and Cultural Safari provides unique experiences with wildlife and nature. Visitors can see mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in their homes and enjoy activities like boat cruises, hiking, and horseback riding. The tour includes stops at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, Murchison Falls National Park for wildlife viewing and a Nile River cruise, and Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. It also visits Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kazinga Channel, Bwindi Forest for gorilla encounters, Lake Bunyonyi for relaxing, and Lake Mburo for night wildlife drives and horseback riding.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport- Get transferred to your booked hotel in Entebbe

Upon arriving at Entebbe International Airport, a company representative will greet you and take you to your hotel. After you refresh, you will meet your safari driver guide for a briefing about your 10-Day Uganda Wildlife and Cultural Safari. If time allows, you can visit the Entebbe Botanical Gardens near Lake Victoria, which is home to many bird species and primates. Then, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Entebbe City- Visit Ziwa Rhino sanctuary- Top of the Falls

The day starts with breakfast and a drive to Murchison Falls National Park in northwestern Uganda. On the way, you will visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for white rhino tracking, where you can see the rhinos closely with a local guide and take photos. After this, you can relax and have lunch at Kabalega dinner. The next day, you will explore Murchison Falls National Park, enjoying the stunning views of the falls and the powerful sound of the Nile River. Later, you will relax at your lodge before going on a night game drive safari. The park is home to many animals and over 450 bird species, and you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive-Afternoon Boat Cruise- Evening relaxation

Wake up early for breakfast and go on a morning game drive to see various wildlife like lions, elephants, giraffes, and leopards. After a breakfast break, continue the game drive to spot more animals. Return to the lodge for lunch, then take a boat cruise on the Nile Delta to view the falls, enjoying the scenic views. You will see hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and various bird species during the cruise. After the day’s activities, return to the lodge for dinner and relax overnight.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park-Transfer to Kibale Forest -Bigodi Sanctuary and Community visit

The day starts with breakfast and a drive to Kibale Forest National Park, famous for its many chimpanzees and primates. The park has 13 primate species, including L’hoest’s monkey and red colobus monkeys, along with various other monkeys and over 375 bird species. After lunch, visitors will head to Fort Portal City for beautiful views of tea estates and the Rwenzori Mountains. The next day includes a nature walk at Bigodi Swamp, a community-managed area, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park-Chimpanzee Trekking- Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park-Visit Katwe

After breakfast, you meet your safari guide and go to the park information offices for a briefing on chimpanzees and their behavior. You then take a guided walk in the forest to find chimpanzees, which share 98.8% of human DNA, along with other wildlife. After your time with the chimpanzees, you have lunch and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You visit the Katwe community, learn about salt mining, and then check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Forest- Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Following this, they will return to their lodge for lunch and rest. Later, they will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and water birds before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 7: Morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park- Tree climbing lions-Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The itinerary features a morning game drive safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a well-known site in Uganda, and a trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The safari includes a visit to Kasenyi Plains, where you can see the big five mammals, antelopes, and primates. Bwindi Park is famous for its ancient rainforest and is home to about 500 mountain gorillas, 120 mammal species, many primates, and over 350 bird species.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park- Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning, get ready for mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park by gathering your gear, dressing suitably, and having breakfast. Meet your safari guide and learn about the park’s rules. You will be assigned a mountain gorilla family to track, along with a UWA ranger and forest guide. Consider hiring a porter for help. After the briefing, begin your walk, which could take 45 minutes to 4 hours to find the gorillas. Bring water and snacks. Spend one hour with the gorillas, take photos and videos, then return for a conservation certificate. Enjoy refreshments and lunch before heading to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi Boat canoeing-transfer to Lake Mburo National Park-Evening Night game drive

Start your day at your own pace with breakfast, then enjoy a canoeing adventure on Lake Bunyonyi, which has 29 islands, each with unique stories. One notable island is Akampene Island, known for punishing girls who became pregnant before marriage. After canoeing, travel to Lake Mburo National Park, which showcases the history and culture of the Ankole people. The park features evening and night game drives to see animals like zebras, giraffes, and Cape buffaloes, as well as nocturnal creatures like hyenas and leopards. Lake Mburo is Uganda’s smallest savannah park, housing 350 bird species and 68 mammal species.

Day 10: Horse riding in Lake Mburo and Return to Entebbe International Airport

On your last day of the 10-Day Uganda Wildlife and Cultural Safari, have breakfast before going on a morning jungle horseback riding safari in Lake Mburo National Park. This ride allows you to view wildlife while enjoying the peaceful environment. After breakfast, you will drive to Entebbe International Airport for your return flight, stopping at the Uganda equator line in Kayabwe. There, you can see a water experiment demonstrating how forces act differently on each side of the equator. After lunch, you will visit craft shops for souvenirs before continuing to the airport.
